About The Author

Alexandra’s passion for writing has existed ever since she bought her first journal in the third grade. Her dedication to the craft was fostered by many encouraging and memorable teachers from elementary school through college. In the last decade, she has been many things…a Federal employee, a primary-grade school teacher, a singer/songwriter, a textbook editor, a freelance writer, and a licensed massage therapist. Alexandra wrote saffire_21 while living in Santa Barbara, California—a city that is very inspirational to her. This is her third completed novel. When she’s not writing or running her massage therapy business, she enjoys hiking, going to see live music, and socializing with her friends (both online and local). She currently resides in Dayton, Ohio, surrounded by most of her large, close-knit family, and plans on writing for the rest of her life.

Alexandra was first encouraged to pursue writing professionally when a college professor read her essay on home birthing and urged her to submit it to a parenting magazine. She later went on to write elementary-level textbooks and articles for an e-zine (randomville.com), but her favorite genre has always been fiction.

From writing her earliest short stories (clandestinely read and passed around the room by her sixth grade classmates) to her very first romance novel (written in her senior year of high school), Alexandra has always aspired to be a novelist.

Her first mature novel, To America - Journey of the Alpine Eagle, is a fictionalized biography about her Italian grandparents who immigrated to America in the early twentieth century. She wrote the book during most of her career as an elementary school teacher (during which she had the great privilege of teaching creative writing).

Her second novel, Just Wait, takes place in a contemporary office setting and—with just the right blend of drama and humor—offers new and hopeful perspective to everyday women who are approaching thirty and still seeking both the right career and the ideal man.

The theme of saffire_21 was a surprise to Alexandra, as she’d never before attempted a mystery. It was largely inspired by her niece, her online community at radioparadise.com, and the gorgeous setting of her California home from 2005-2007.

Creativity runs rampant through Alexandra’s family, who has served as a source of encouragement and support throughout her life. As well, her network of friends scattered throughout the country (and world) have been equally as supportive, and invaluable in her life.

Alexandra strives to live in the moment as much as possible with compassion, gratitude and awareness. She writes with the intention that her work be for the highest good of all involved, and hopes to continue publishing novels as a full-time career.
